Standing together in The Crossing’s courtyard, the Forsgrens pose for a family picture. It’s a bright day, and Zach, age 4, can’t keep himself from squinting in the sunlight. Eyes closed tightly, he flashes as bright a smile as anyone lacking a few front teeth could be expected to.
“Mom, do I look stupid?” he asks through his grin.
“Of course not, honey,” his mom, Verna, reassures him.
“You look great,” adds his dad, Jeff, with gruff affection.
The parents hold their children tightly, pulling the family closer. Together they face the camera and smile.

Last year, 15 men fighting homelessness and addiction inspired others when they each successfully completed the Post News Colorado Colfax full or half-marathon. This year, 45 men from the New Life Program, the Denver Rescue Mission’s long-term rehabilitation program, have taken on the challenge as well. |
Denver's Road Home |
Denver’s
Road Home is the name of the 10-year plan set up by The Denver Commission
to End Homelessness. This plan consists of 7 Goals which are each
designed to address different aspects of the homeless problem. Naturally,
since Denver Rescue Mission (DRM) has been helping the homeless
for over 100 years, we are contributing significantly to this initiative.
Listed below are some of the ways that DRM is participating in the
Denver's Road Home.
